John M. Muschweck, 76, of 15 South 6th St., Midland, a retired machinist, died this morning at 12:50 at the Veterans Hospital in Butler after a lingering illness. A native of Pittsburgh, Mr. Muschweck was born March 7, 1893, a son of the late Thomas and Gertrude Scheel Muschweck. He lived in Midland 60 years and at one time resided in Industry. He retired in 1960 from the Crucible Steel Co. after 38 years service. He served in France during World War I with the 23nd Infantry Divison. He was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church of Monaca and Midland American Legion Post 481. He was a retired member of Local 1212 of the United Steelworkers of America. He is survived by five sons, Thomas M. Muschweck, Carl C. Muschweck, and John M. Muschweck, all of East Liverpool, Paul J. Muschweck of Smiths Ferry and William E. Muschweck of Industry; four daughters, Mrs. James (Elizabeth) George, Mrs. Mike (Pauline) Karcis, and Mrs. Dorothy Flaim of Industry and Mrs. James (Helen) Pritchett of Midland, 27 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Cannon Funeral Home in Midland by the Rev. Donald K. Zundel of the Church. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Industry. Full Military services also will be conducted at the funeral home and the cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday after 2 p.m.
