Walter C. Adank, 76, died Saturday, Sept. 21, 1996, at Columbia Putnam Medical Center following a long illness.
He was born in Newport, Ky., and had lived in Welaka for the past 20 years, coming from Miami. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Marines. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic church, the Crescent City V.F.W. Post 10177 and the American Legion.
He is survived by a daughter, Patricia L. Adam of Welaka; sister, Florence Brooks of Dayton, Ky.; three grandchildren; three great-grandhildren.
The funeral will be 9 a.m. Wednesday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with Father Brian Eburn officiating. Burial will follow in St. Johns Catholic Cemetery.
