Richard Armstrong , a seaman on the Schr. Abbie H. Gheen was drowned at the Railroad Wharf last Thursday morning. He was standing on a plank extending from the vessel's rail to wharf, when it broke and preeipated him into the river. As he did nor rise surface nothing could be done to save him. The body was found in the same place Friday morning and a Coroner's Jury after viewing after it rendered a verdit of accidental drowning. The remains were interred in Elmwood Cemetery. The deceased was only 18 years of age and this was first trip to sea. He leaves a widowed mother in Brooklyn who gains a livelihood by acting as a stewardess on a steamer.
