George is the son of Cortez and Eveline Throne Wylie.

George was a 1st Sergeant in the US Army. Fought in the Battle of the Little Bighorn, June 25, 1876. He was listed as a Corporal in Company D, 7th U.S. Cavalry Regiment. He took part in the hilltop fight and survived the battle.

He died at the family home at 7047 Indiana, Kansas City, Missouri of chronic myocarditis which is inflammation of heart muscle (myocardium). It resembles a heart attack but coronary arteries are not blocked. Myocarditis is most often due to infection by common viruses.
