He was born in 1840, Boston Mass to Eliza (Elsie/Elsey) G. (Pike) Bean and George J. Bean

He married Adeline and had two children,
Elsie Bean & George Jefferson Bean.

According to his death certificate,his residence at the time of his death was W. Irving Street,Oshkosh, and he was buried in Riverside.

DEATH OF MR. F. J. BEAN

Well know resident succumbs to attack of Apoplexy.

Friends in this city will be saddened to learn of the very
sudden and unexpected death of Francis Jefferson Bean of
82 West Irving Street. He passed away this morning at 5:30 o'clock after being ill only since about 10:30 o'clock Sunday night.
During Sunday he was in apparently excellent health and was cheerful as usual. In the evening he talking
pleasantly with his family.
When he retired about 10:30 o'clock he complained to his wife that he was ill and had a very severe pain in the back of his head and neck.
It was supposed that the attack was only a sick headache.
Mr. Bean became unconscious and from that moment until his death he never spoke. The attending physician gave the cause of death as apoplexy and all hope of his recovery was given up when he became unconscious.
Mr. Bean was 62 years of age. He was born in Boston in 1840.
At the age of fifteen years he removed to Wisconsin. For a period of about twenty-five years, deceased lived at Pickett's station. town of Utica, and was engaged in farming.
Eleven years ago he removed to OshKosh where he lived ever since. He was retired from business.
When the Civil war broke out Mr. Bean enlisted at Ripon and served on a gunboat of the northern fleet. He was a member of John W. Scott post G.A.R.
Those who survive him are Mrs. Adeline Bean, wife of the deceased , one son George Bean of Duluth and one daughter,
Elsie of this city. The funeral arrangeements will be announced later when the son, George Bean arrives home.
