Born: At James Jr and Mary McDonald Sorrell's Homestead near Owingsville, Bath, Kentucky.

Mrs. Frances Chipman was stricken with paralysis Monday evening at her home in this city, and died within an hour. She was in unusually good health for one of her age up to the time she was stricken, and was conscious only about five minutes.
Frances A. Stearman was born June 21, 1829, near Owensville, Bath county, Ky., moved to Chillicothe, Ohio, with her parents at the age of one and one half years, and later to Concord, Ill., where on Feb 19,1851, she was married to John E. Chipman. They came to Momence in the same year, which has since been her home.
To them were born three children - Henry, Millard and Robert. Robert died Sept. 2, 1884. Two sons, Henry and Millard, two sisters, two brothers, ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren are left to mourn her loss.
The funeral was held at the M.E. church Wednesday, conducted by Rev. T.S. Pittenger and burial took place at the Momence cemetery.
