The wife of Marcus Walker, one of the old settlers of this county, died Wednesday evening, Feb 1, at here home one west of Crab Orchard. Mrs. Walker had been in poor health for some time, and when she contracted the measles last week her constitution was too weak to withstand the disease, and after only a few days of suffering she passed away. She leaves a husband, six sons and three daughters. Mrs. Walker was a devout Christian adn was for many years a member of the Crab orchard M.E. church. The funeral was held yesterday afternoon from the family home, Rev. D. Parker conducting the obsequies. The Herald joins in extending sympathies to the sorrowing family
