Chester Joseph Robie, 87, died Sunday in his residence.
He was born in Toledo, Ohio to Louis and Wanda (Kalas) Robaszkiewicz. He married Kathryn Walker, and she preceded him in death.
He was employed for 30 years by Marsh Supermarket as manager of deli/meat department in Indianapolis and also had worked for Kroger, A&P and Seaway Foodtown, Toledo, Ohio. He was named a Kentucky Colonel in 1980 and was a member of the American Legion Brown Doyle Post in Marion. He was a veteran of the US Army, having served in World War II.
Survivors include a daughter, Candence "Candy" Brooks, Warsaw; a sister, Jo Ann Able, Toledo, Ohio; five grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter and a sister.
Arrangements are being handled by Cremation Society of Indiana, Indianapolis.
