William Henry Bailey, 77, died at twelve o'clock noon yesterday, at his home at Fort Defiance, following a lingering illness. Pneumonia developed Saturday.
Burial will be in the Laurel Hill cemetery.
Mr. Bailey was born and spent all of his life in Augusta county. He was a farmer and cattle raiser. His wife, formerly Miss Sarah Catherine Coiner, died thirty years ago. He is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Lollie Singleton, Mrs. Nettie Rosen, and Miss Lillian Bailey, at home; Mrs. Bessie Carpenter, Weyers Cave; sis sons, M.H., W.N., B.F., Fort Defiance; G.H., Bridgewater; R.L. and C.A. Bailey, McGaheysville; two brothers, including Luther Bailey, Staunton.
