Dorothy E. Eby, 95, of Parkesburg, passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2009, at the Harrison Senior Living Center in Christiana.

She was the widow of the late W. Glenn Eby, who died in 1996.

Born in Parkesburg, she was the daughter of the late George E. and Ella Townsley White.

A lifelong resident of Parkesburg, she graduated from Parkesburg High School in 1931.

Dot was a faithful member of the Parkesburg United Methodist Church and had served there as church organist for more than 75 years. She also played for funerals for many years at the Wilde Funeral Home.

She is survived by one daughter, Cheryl D. Fruits of Parkesburg; two grandsons, Brian Fruits, husband of Hallie, and Jeffrey Fruits, husband of Melissa, both of Glen Burnie, Md.; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Sarah W. Sener.

The memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 30, at 2 p.m. at the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St., Parkesburg, followed by inurnment in Upper Octorara Cemetery.

Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation, which will be held at the funeral home Thursday from 1 to 2 p.m.

Memorial donations may be made in Dorothy's memory to the Parkesburg United Methodist Church, earmarked "Organ Fund," 411 W. Main St., Parkesburg, PA 19365.
