Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Willamette National Cemetery, Portland, for Glen Emory Alford of McMinnville, who died Nov. 30, 2003, at Oakwood Country Place [McMinnville, Yamhill Co.]. He was 76.
He was born May 21, 1927, in Enterprise and was raised in Wallowa County, then lived most of his life in the Willamette Valley and Baker City. He served in the Navy for a year just before the end of World War II.
Mr. Alford was an avid fisherman and hunter. But his greatest hobby was working with wood, sharing his carpentry skills with family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Helen; three daughters, Janet Schultz of Hillsboro, Glenda Farmer of Salem and Susan Smith of Grover Beach, Calif.; a son, David Alford of Albany; a brother, Clebert Alford of Portland; a sister, Joan Tippett of Asotin, Wash.; 10 grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Arrangements were in the care of Macy & Son Funeral Directors, McMinnville.
