MORRISON
Kennan Snyder Morrison passed away December , 2008, in Oklahoma City. He was born to William Coates Morrison and Reita Ruth (Fisher) Morrison in Sherman, TX, on January 4, 17. He came T Oklahoma City at Ute age of 2, with his parents, one sister and three brothers. He was a lifelong member of St. Paul's Episcopal Cathedral, Following in the footsteps of his father serving as usher for many years. Kenyan was a meticulous perfectionist in his hobbies, first building a couple of sailboats in his younger years. He was an avid sail boater and served as Commodore of the Oklahoma City Boat Club in 1960. One of his larger projects was that of building a planked inboard motor boat in the late 1950's, fashioned after a 17" Chris Craft runabout at the age of about 42. His next large project was building a model railroad in the 1970's, featured into the "Model Railroad" magazine in the June 1977 issue. It covered the size of a three car garage and raised up to the ceiling when not in use. As done before on the inboard boat, everything was exacting and perfect. He built all the scenery, along with the help from a few friends, and he built and electrical control station to run the railroad cars and lighting. etc. Kennan enlisted, with his brother Jack, in the US Army in 1942 and served as First Lieutenant for four years as Billeting Officer in Germany. He joined his father in the wholesale paper business, Morrision Paper Company and served as its President for many years. A good looking man with a charming personality and always a gentleman in every respect. Kennan was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Elizabeth Joyce, his three brothers, W C Morrison Jr., Robert Ivan Morrison, and Jack Morrison. He is survived by his wife Marilyn Duffner Morrison; two daughters, Sherry Morrison and husband Philip Morrison of Penticton, BC Canada, and Patricia Ann "Bunny" Johnstone and husband Wm. Parnell Johnstone of San Diego, CA; and a niece, Betty Ruth Clingman of Shreveport, LA. Graveside services will be held Saturday, December 6, 2008, at 2pm at Memorial Park Cemetery.
