Memorial services for SPC Christopher Lloyd Grimes, 20, were conducted at 1 pm on Saturday, Dec. 9, 2006, at his home in Ardmore by Sharen Hale. Cremation took place earlier under the direction of Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home. Born on Aug. 28, 1986 in Ardmore to Clinton Grimes and Frances "Elaine" Cross Grimes Hunt. Chris died on Nov. 29, 2006, south of Ardmore. SPC Grimes attended Plainview, Ardmore, and Take Two Schools. After graduation in May 2004 Chris fulfilled his duty in the delayed-entry program by joining the U.S. Army. In June 2004 he began Basic Training and also finished AIT in Fort Benning, Ga. He was stationed in Fort Polk, La. as a member of Company D. 2nd Battalion 30th Infantry, Tenth Mountain. Survivors include his wife, Stacie Renee Autry, of Norman, his father, Clinton Grimes, of Prague, his mother, Elaine Hunt, his dad, Larry Hunt, and his sister, Shastin Hunt, all of Ardmore, as well as numerous other family members and friends.
