Teene Morton was born on July 1, 1919, in Childress to Elmer and Myrtle Reasoner, and died on Friday, April 17, 2009, in Palestine. She married Earl Morton on Aug. 8, 1945, and moved to Jacksonville. She was a member of Craft Baptist Church.
She was employed by the Jacksonville School District for 20 years, retiring in 1990.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Teene was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Morton; her parents, Elmer and Myrtle Reasoner; her brother, Hubert Jarrell Reasoner, who was killed in World War II; and great-granddaughters, Peyton Morton and Juliette Morton.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Jarrell and Charlotte Morton, and Howard and Sue Morton; daughter and son-in-law, Syble and Larry Shank; grandchildren, Brad and Lanette Morton, Brent and Janett Morton, Laura and Luke Moore, Dusty Shank, Lindsey Morton, and Traci Morton; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Fern Cawthron; sisters-in-law, Jo Bevington, Katie Morton, and Hazel Morton; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, April 19, 2009, at Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville.
