Graveside services for Wilma B. Sheel, 81, 501 E. 5th St., will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 28, at Fairview Cemetery. The Rev. William Dale, pastor of Calvary Church of God, will officiate.

Mrs. Sheel, a resident of La Junta since 1946, died Saturday, June 26, 1989, at Humana Hospital in Aurora, CO.

She was born August 15, 1907, in Greenleaf, Kans. and graduated from Moline High School. She was married to Frank Leroy Sheel on May 13, 1928, in Howard, Kans.

While living in LaJunta, Mrs. Sheel donated a significant amount of service to the community as a Retired Senior Volunteer. She organized and presented many programs for residents of the nursing home.

She is survived by three sons: Keith Leroy Sheel, Aurora; Glenn Shelton Sheel, Denver; Kay Kenton Sheel, Denver; and daughters: Patsy Ann Fontenot, Compton, Calif.; and Pamela Genelle Snyman, Orville, Wash.; sister, Audry Mills, Moline, Kans, brother Lowell Wolverton, Overland Park, Kans, nine grand-children and four great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Sheel was preceded in death by her husband, son Lowell John Sheel and grandson Robert John Sheel.
