Graveside services for Estelle Sledge, age 79, of Bangs will be held 2 p.m. today, in Cedar Point Cemetery with the Rev. Wayne Lewis officiating. Heartland Funeral Home is in charge of services.
Estelle died Monday, April 6, 2009, at a local nursing home.
Estelle Louise Sledge was born Aug. 29, 1929, in Brown County, Texas, the daughter of the late Thomas and Delia Womack. She grew up in the Bangs area and was a member of the Bangs First United Methodist Church. She was married to William A. Sledge in Coleman, Texas. He preceded her in death. Mrs. Sledge worked in many areas including Twlight Nursing Home. She was a lifetime resident of Bangs. Survivors include her two sons, Carlos Sledge of Bangs and Bill Sledge of Santa Anna; two daughters, Ann Sledge of Lubbock and Kay Sledge of Brownwood; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, James Womack of Brownwood and Paul Womack of New Caney; numerous nieces and nephews
