Services for John Alvin Lawrence, 85, former Wagoner produce dealer, were held Monday afternoon in the Hersman Chapel. He died in a local nursing home last Friday, April 11, 1969. Rev. Stewart and Rev. Melvin Garrison officiated at the service. He was born April 5, 1884 in Green Forrest, Arkansas. and came to Tahlequah in 1906. He came to Wagoner in 1925. Survivors include two daughters; Mrs. Frankie Claxton of Stockton, California, and Mrs. Clevlie Broaddus of Wagoner; two sons, Harold of Porter and Glenn of Tulsa; two brothers, Ed of Winfield, Kansas, and Charlie of Wichita, Kansas; one sister, Amanda Kittrell of Winfield, Kansas; nine grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Troy Dickens, Dallas Dickens, Bill Dickens, Ronald Lawrence, Bob Lancaster and Glen Bunney.
