David Lawson was naturalized on Sept 29, 1854 Vol. DR28 p1016, Sovereign Queen of G.B. & Ireland. Essex Co., N.Y. Naturalization Records.

David S. Lawson, an aged and respected citizen of West Chazy, died in his home at that place Oct. 14th, 1911, aged 87 years. Mr. Lawson came to this country from Ireland when a young man and soon after his arrival here settled on a farm in Chesterfield, Essex county, where he lived until about ten years ago. During the last few years he has resided with his son, D. S. Lawson, at Lyon Mountain, and at West Chazy where he died.
The deceased was a very active man in all that pertained in the public good. He was honored with various offices in his own town and in every capacity he discharged his duties with ability and zeal. For many years a very regular attendant of the M. E. church, his saintly life will long be remembered by all who knew him.
Funeral services were held at his late home in West Chazy and were in charge of Rev. V. K. Moore of Plattsburgh, a life long friend of the deceased. Rev. W. Terrill and Rev. Wright assisted at the services. The internment was at Clintonville. The Plattsburgh Sentinel Fri, Oct. 20, 1911
