George Michael "Mike" Willis, 45, of Big Spring, died on Monday, April 6, 2009, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Rev. Walter McCall, chaplain with Compass Hospice, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.

He was born on May 10, 1963, in Lubbock and married Gayla Paige on August 1, 2008 in Big Spring.

Mike had worked at Fluid Transport in Snyder for eight years. He is remembered mostly for being very kind and loving to anyone who knew him. Mike had a gift for making others feel welcome and accepted and never met a stranger. Mike enjoyed playing golf with his family and friends. He spent many hours at the lake with his kids. When he wasn't pulling the kids around on an intertube, you would see him catch the most fish of everyone in the boat.

We all will miss his great smile and infectious personality, but we can rejoice because we know that he has the perfect scorecard and trophy catch in heaven above.

He was a member of Midway Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Gayla Willis of Big Spring; one son, Chance Willis of Lubbock; three daughters, Keeli Willis, Dakota Willis and Kaime Willis all of Lubbock; his parents, George and Jerri Willis of Petersburg; one sister and brother-in-law, Debbie and Bill Morris of Glen Rose; one brother, Steve Willis of Albuquerque, New Mexico; many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Buzz and Myrt Gregory and Hib Willis, grandparents of Petersburg.

The family suggests memorials be made to the donor's favorite charity.
