Shirley Bell McRoberts was born August 23, 1893, in Webber, Kansas. She was the youngest child of Douglas Irby Wynne McRoberts (who was 43), and Martha Isabell Fearing McRoberts (who was 29). She married Phillip Reichert in 1918. They were the parents of two sons: Max who died when he was 34 days old, and 1 Lieutenant Philip Reichert who was shot down over France during WWII. Following the death of her son Phil, she sold her business (Mrs. Reichert’s Tea Room) in Concordia, Kansas, and separated from her husband, to move to Shelton, Nebraska, and take up residence with her brother, J. F. McRoberts. She was an active member of the Shelton Methodist Church, the American Legion Auxiliary, and the Rebecca Lodge. She died on August 8, 1975, at the age of 80 years, 11 months and 16 days, and was buried in the Shelton Cemetery. She is survived by a host of loving relatives , and faithful friends.
