Samuel J. Clark, aged 90, passed away Sunday, January 7 at the home of Edward Stevens at Deerhead. The deceased had been out of health for quite a while past. He had been a resident of Clintonville most of his life, where he was born and brought up.
He is survived by two sons, Joseph Clark, of Deerhead, and W. J. Clark, of Hempstead, L. I.; one daughter Mrs. Belle Clark, of Brooklyn; a brother Henry Clark, of Clintonville, and several grandchildren; Walter Clark, Lewis; Gertrude Clark and Burt Clark of Brainerds Forge and, Earl Lawson of Clintonville.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon from the M. E. Church at Clintonville.

There should be four more grandchildren listed, Clara Lawson, James Lawson, 3rd, William Clark Lawson, Earl Lawson. and Mary Lawson.
On Tuesday, Jan. 9th, occurred the funeral of Samuel Clark, a Civil War veteran, who was living with Mr. Stevens at Deerhead. Services were held in the First M. E. Church, Rev. Francis Munkittrick officiating; burial was beside his wife, who died several years ago. "Taps" were sounded by Rev. Munkittrick, who is a World War soldier. They sounded sad indeed. So one by one the veterans of the Civil War are passing away.

Trout Pond – The remains of Samuel Clark, a former old resident of this place, were taken through here Tuesday for burial at Clintonville.
