Mary Belle Meeks, Retired Secretary From John L. Cummins Auctions And Real Estate

Mary Belle Meeks, 85, of Cynthiana, died Thursday at Harrison Memorial Hospital, Cynthiana.

She was a retired secretary from John L. Cummins Auctions and Real Estate and a member of Stringtown Christian Church, Grant County.

Her husband, Garnett Meeks, died in 2000. A son, Luther Lee Meeks, died on Jan. 16.

Survivors include a daughter, Reba Stone of Sadieville; a sister, Ruth Connelly of Cincinnati; four grandchildren; and seven grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Woodhead Funeral Home, Berry. Visitation will begin there at 11 a.m. Monday. Burial will be in Pythian Grove Cemetery, Berry.

Memorials are suggested to Hospice of the Bluegrass, 506 E. Pike St., Cynthiana, Ky. 41031.

Mary Belle Meeks, 85, of Cynthiana, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2009, at the Harrison Memorial Hospital in Cynthiana. Born on January 2, 1924 in Harrison County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Mollie Whiteker Fogle. She married Garnett Meeks, and her dear husband of 59 years preceded her in death on April 21, 2000. Formerly she worked as a secretary for John L. Cummins Auctions & Real Estate. She was a member of the Stringtown Christian Church, Grant County.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Luther Lee (Butch) Meeks on January 16, 2008.

She is survived by her daughter, Reba and husband James Stone of Sadieville, Harrison County; grandchildren: Stephanie (Mark) Burke and Jennifer (Mike) Ritchie, Cathy (Jim) Lewis and Kavin (Marilyn) Wagner; great grandchildren: Tyler Ritchie, Chase and Tanner Gillispie, Justin (Tara)Wagner,Chelsea Wagner and Matt and Ryan Lewis; her sister, Ruth (John) Connelly of Cincinnati, Ohio; and her daughter-in-law, Henrietta Meeks of Cynthiana.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, April 6, 2009, at the Woodhead Funeral Home, Berry, with Steven C. Barton, D. Min. officiating. The pallbearers will be Tyler Ritchie, Chase Gillispie, Tanner Gillispie, Justin Wagner, Chelsea Wagner, Matt Lewis, and Ryan Lewis. The honorary pallbearers are the McDonald's girls, Huck Turner, Hanson Stone, John Malone, Dwayne and Robin Florence, Dr. Steven Besson, and Howard McKinney. The visitation will be from 11-1:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Interment will take place in the Pythian Grove Cemetery, Berry.
