Adolphus Homer Purcell, 82, of Rt. 1 Demorest, died at the Habersham County Hospital Monday morning.
Mr. Purcell was born in Franklin County, a son of the late Jim and Nancy Carole Hunt Purcell. His wife, Mrs. Maude Whitfield Purcell died in 1931.
He was a member of the Clarkesville Methodist Church, the F and AM No. 325, The Roval Arch No. 67, both of Clarkesville; the Philemon Commandery Knights of Templar No. 33, Toccoa; the Yaraab Shrine Temple, Atlanta; No. 276 OES, Clarkesville of which he was a past patron. He was a retired music teacher.
Survivors: five sons, two daughters, a half-brother and a half-sister.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Clarkesville Methodist Church with the Revs. William Cawthon and Clyde Garrison officiating.
Burial was in the Prospect Methodist Cemetery, Franklin County with Masonic rites.
Church and Son had charge of arrangements.
