Elijah Cochran first married Abigail "Gillie" Kelly (dau. of Moses and Sara Amanda Williams Kelly) on 18 May 1890 in Upson Co., Georgia. They had three daughters: Mary Ann, who married James H. "Son" Maze; Hattie Amanda, who married William Oscar Pippin; and Nora Allene, who died in infancy (1896). Abigail died shortly after Nora's birth.

Elijah married second Daisy Partain (dau. of John James and Martha Hembrick Partain) on 3 Apr 1898 in Upson Co., Georgia. Elijah and Daisy had a total of seven children: sons Grady William, Owen Carlton, Johnnie C., Homer Horace and Howard Samuel; and daughters Flossie and Tommie Elizabeth.

Elijah was born to William D. and Elizabeth "Lizzie" Harrup Cochran in 1869. There were two other siblings living in the household on the 1870 Monroe Co. census - Charley, age 5 and Fanny, age 3. Elijah was age 1.

The family appears in the 1880 Culloden District, Monroe Co. census as "Cochrane": William, Lizzie, Charley, Fannie, Elijah and Lulu (born 1874).

The 1900 census has Elijah married to Daisie and living in Militia District 589, Hootenville, Upson, Georgia. They had one child, Grady, living in household.

The 1910 Jug District, Upson Co. census lists "A. C." Cochran; Lizzie; Hattie; Grady; Owen; Johnnie; Flossie M.; Homer; and Howard.

In the 1920 census, Elije C. Cochran is residing with Daisy in Crawford County, Ga., along with five children: Johnny, age 16; Flossy, age 14; Homer and Howard, age 12; and Fanney (f) age 3y 2m.

The 1930 Census has them living in Knoxville, Crawford Co., with Howard, age 22 and Tommie E. age 13. Again the name on the census was spelled Elije.

Son, Johnny (Johnnie) (John) passed away on 2 Dec 1922, at 19 years old, in Crawford County. He is also buried in this cemetery. He died of pneumonia.
