Mr. Baker served in the U. S. Navy during WW II and served as Mason and Elder of the First Presbyterian Church in Bryan. He was a member of the American Institute of Architects, having recently been named President of the Brazos Chapter, the Texas Society of Architects, the Board of Architect Examiners. He was also a member of the W. T. Austin Council No. 52 R&SM, Ivanhoe Commandery No. 8 Knights Templar, Houston Consistory Ancient and Accepted Order of Free Mason Scottish Rite Degree.
He was survived by his wife and son, Arch C. Baker Jr, as well as two brothers, two sisters, and two grandchildren.
