Julius Monroe "Buster" Peak, 87, of Liberty died, Saturday, July15, 2006, at Liberty –Dayton Community Hospital in Liberty after an extended illness. He was born August 8, 1918 in Sour Lake to parents Daniel Randolph Peak and Sally Davis Peak. He lived in the area all his life and worked 20+ years and retired from SunOil Company. Mr. Peak loved his family; his dogs, and working with cattle. He also loved hunting and fishing.

Services for Mr. Peak will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 18, 2006 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bob Fosburgh officiating.
Interment will be at Fairlawn Cemetery in Liberty under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Dayton.

Mr. Peak is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, sister, daughter-in-law and two grandsons. He is survived by his wife: Sylvia Campbell Peak of Liberty; son: James Peak of Liberty; daughters: Sissy Key of Hardin, Margaret Bird and husband Mike of Hardin, Helen Gilbreath and husband James of Como, Texas; fifteen grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
