Florence E. DiBenedetto Abbondi, 97, of Kennett Square, died Sunday, March 29, 2009, at the Linden Hall Nursing Home in Kennett Square.
She was the wife of the late Clemente A. Abbondi, who died in 1992 and with whom she shared 56 years of marriage.
Born in Baker Station, she was a daughter of the late Pietro and Giovina (Madonna) DiBenedetto.
Florence was a devoted wife and mother, and loved cooking for family and friends.
Survivors include one son, Donnie Abbondi and his wife, Teddi, of Lincoln University; one daughter, Diana S. Tatman of Kennett Square; one brother, Albert A. DiBenedetto of Florida; four grandsons, James Powers, Brian Tatman, Daniel Abondi and Brad Tatman; and three great-grandsons, Gavin and Dylan Powers, and Max Tatman.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 1, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 212 Meredith St., Kennett Square.
Family and friends may visit with the family from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. before the service at the Kuzo & Grieco Funeral Home, 250 W. State St., Kennett Square, 610-444-4116.
Interment will be in St. Patrick Cemetery.
