Richard Alan Flagg, age 59, of Storer St. Saco, Me, passed away unexpectedly on March 27, 2009 in Saco.

He was born in Portland on Feb. 20, 1950, a son of Floyd and Pauline Flagg.

He graduated from Portland High School and completed schooling to receive his Master Plumber designation. Richard proudly served his country by enlisting into the U.S. Army. Throughout his life, Richard was employed as a master plumber and worked for several local companies. He enjoyed history, baseball & football, politics, socializing with family and friends, going to the beach, being with his daughter's dogs and most especially, spending time with his children and grandchildren.

He is predeceased by his parents.

Mr. Flagg is survived by his daughters, Alexa Flagg of South Portland and Krista Bruns and her husband Andy of Scarborough; siblings, Charlie Flagg of Illinois, Carol Young of South Carolina, Elizabeth Flagg of Virginia, Barbara Melideo of Massachusetts, William Flagg of Portland, John Flagg of Florida, Robert Flagg of Florida, Patty McGehan of Old Orchard Beach, and Margaret McCullough of Old Orchard Beach; grandchildren, Cassie Hanson and Logan Bruns; and many friends and extended family.

Visiting hours will be on Wednesday from 2 - 4 p.m. at the Dennett, Craig & Pate Funeral Home, 365 Main St., Saco, followed by a service with military honors at 4 p.m at the funeral home.
