A celebration of life for Leland O "Lee" "Poopsie" Carmany, 90, of Willoughby, will be 10am Wednesday at the Davis Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Ave, Willoughby.
Mr Carmany died Dec 29, 2006 at Fairmount Health Center in Willoughby.
He was born May 5, 1916 in Canal Fulton. He had been a longtime Willoughby and Mentor resident.
He was a member of the Mentor United Methodist Church. Mr Carmany was a WWII US Army Veteran serving in Europe and decorated with the Good Conduct Medal, European African Middle Eastern Service Medal with five Bronze Stars.
Survivors are his daughters, Laurel "Laurie" (John) Fircak of Willoughby, and Bonnie Lee (John) Leskovac of Painesville; grandchildren, Daniel McCoy of Willoughby and Louis (Rochelle) Kraska of Mentor; great-grandchildren, Austin and Kyle Kraska. He also leaves behind his good friend, Robert Endebrock of Madison.
His wife of 61 years, Lillian; parents, William and Mabel (Streby) Carmany; grandson, Sean McCoy; brothers, Lowell and Wilbur and his beloved dog, Holly, are deceased.
Friends may call from 6-8pm Tuesday at the funeral home. The Rev Donald J Grauer, Chaplin of Breckenridge Village will officiate at the service. Burial with full military honors will be in Mentor Cemetery, Mentor.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest contributions to the Alzheimer's Association, 12200 Fairhill Road, Cleveland, OH 44120 or Disabled American Veterans Memorial Program, PO Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301.
