Kathleen (Kate) Garmon went home to Heaven Friday, March 20, 2009 to be with her Lord and beloved husband Hazel and son Robert along with other loved ones and relatives.
Mrs. Garmon loved Mena, which she and her husband Hazel ran the Garmon Jewelry Store for over 30 years. Kate was an avid gardener and loved her vegetables, and beautiful flower gardens. She also loved bowling and enjoyed the Pine Bowl and Bowling World in Fort Smith.

Kate was born in Big Fork, Arkansas on October 30, 1925 and passed away in Chapel Ridge Nursing Home on March 20th in Fort Smith.

Mrs. Garmon is survived by:

Daughter: Sandra (Garmon) Blevins and son-in-law, Charles H. Blevins, Jr. of Fort Smith, Arkansas

Grandsons: Courtney Hunter Blevins and Jason Nile Blevins of Fort Smith, Arkansas

Niece: June Middleton and husband Lamar of Springfield, Missouri

Half-Brother: John W. Lewis and wife Lorane of Amarillo, Texas

Half-Sister: Maye Hill and husband Billy of Clarenton, Texas

Many other nieces and nephews

Funeral services will be held Monday, March 23, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Beasley-wood Chapel with Brother Daryl Hines officiating. Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Park under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home. A visitation for family and friends will be Sunday evening, March 22nd from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.

Pallbearers will be Frankie Davis, Courtney Blevins, Jason Blevins, Spencer McKeehan, and Bud Garmon.
