PFC Martinis Tipton, 19, son of Mr. and Mrs. Zebedee Tipton, 2308 NE 23, was killed in action June 1 near Saigon, South Vietnam the defense department said. Tipton had been serving with the 9th Army Division his family said. He had been employed at Val Gene's Cafeteria after graduating from Douglas High School in 1965. He was born in Oklahoma City and was a member of the Church of the Living God.

Funeral services are pending with Rolfe Funeral Home.

Survivors include his parents; a sister, Schenita, of the home, and four brothers, Robert Hodges Jr., Oklahoma City, Zebedee Jr., and Omelia and Ulandia both of the home.
