Nettie had left Westport for Boston in 1915 to take up stenography and typing, and had worked for several years before her death at the Federal Reserve Bank in Boston. She had passed her teacher's B exams in Nova Scotia at a very early age. She was a member of the James St. Christian Church at Roxbury, Suffolk Co., MA. The Lorne Titus papers give a marriage on July 7, 1919, and on the 1920 census she is listed as Nettie Beck or Buck. It is difficult to read her marital status since it has been written over. She may have been divorced since the tombstone lists her as a "Titus" and in her obituary there is no mention of any husband.
