Olson was Melinda's last name. Johnson was the name of the family that adopted Melinda. No information on her adoptive parents. Ballard was the name of her first husband, so Melinda Olson Johnson Ballard.
She may have been cremated and some of her remains buried with Loren in Barstow, CA. - just a possibility with partial remains according to Helen.
Also according to Jacob & Melinda's granddaughter, Helen Knight Hove (wife of Albert Hove), when she was cremated, some of her ashes were tossed into the Pacific Ocean.
