EATON - Mary I. Lyons, 98, passed away Saturday, September 1, 2007 at Muncie Health & Rehabilitation Center, Muncie.
She was born October 27, 1908 in Wheeling, IN, the daughter of Willard and Laura (Brane) Collins and was a life resident of Delaware County. Mary graduated from Gaston High School.
Her first husband, Fred Case, died in 1949. Then in 1963 she married Gordon Lyons, who died in 1991.
A homemaker, she had taught at the Epworth School in Jonesboro.
She was a member of the Epworth Apostolic Friends Church, Jonesboro, and had played piano for the church for 78 years.
Surviving are great nephews, Jim Collins, Royerton, and Larry Collins, Cammack; and a great niece, Judi Ledbetter, Muncie.
Funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 5, 2007, in the Epworth Apostolic Friends Church, 1647 E. 600 S., Jonesboro, with Rev. Joy Butler and Rev. Jim Sexton, officiating.
Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, Eaton.
Friends may call after 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Church.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Pitman-Richman Funeral Home, 200 S. Hartford St., Eaton.
