He was born at Loretta and during his active career engaged in general farming and stock raising. His wife died in October, 1903, and is buried at Loretta, Pa. To Mr. and Mrs. McGuire the following children were born: Henry F., lives at Cresson, Pa.; Edward A., lives at Sankertown, Pa.; William A., the subject of this sketch; Annie E., lives at home; Rose, married James A. Gauntner, lives at Cresson, Pa.; Zita, the widow of William McConnell, lives at Sankertown, Pa.; Charles H., lives at Sankertown, Pa.; Bessie, married Romanus Eckenrode, lives at Loretta, Pa.; Viola, married Sylvester Graff, lives in Johnstown; and Caroline, died in May, 1889.
