Son of Homer Giles Parman and Daisy Lee Harmon Parman. Glen had 1 brother Carl Richard and 2 sisters Jerrye Irene and Lora Rae. He grew up in Reydon, Oklahoma where his father had a produce store.
He joined the Navy as a young man. He was on leave and met and married Janis Mercedes Ervin Blair in Dixon, California.
Janis had a son Jerry Austin Blair, Glen always considered him his own. Glen and Janis moved to Oklahoma near his parents' home. Glen started working in construction. He worked on building bridges, concrete was his specialty.
Glen and Janis added 4 sons, Richard Glenn, Douglas Giles, Russell Keith and Larry Kevin. 3 daughters Glenda Beth, Nelda Lynn, and Nita Janell. Being a bridge builder none of the children were born in the same city. The older children were born in the Oklahoma, Texas and Arkansas. The 2 younger boys were born in California.
The family moved to California in 1858 and settled in Modesto. Glen continued working in construction. He taught his older boys how to pour and finish concrete. In the mid 60's Glen injured his back.
Glen and Janis' home was always a open door home. Everyone was welcome, they loved to plays cards and drink coffee.
In the early 70's Glen and Janis started a new adventure working together in the property management. They worked until Glen started having heart problems that took his life.
