Funeral services for John B. Alexander, Jr., 81, will be held at 2 pm Saturday, February 21, 2009 in the chapel of George H. Hewell and Son Funeral Home, 4140 University Blvd. S., Jacksonville 32216, with Dr. Vincent K. Kolb of South Jacksonville Presbyterian Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery with military honors. Mr. Alexander died February 13, 2009 in Winchester, KY. He was born in London, Kentucky June 23, 1927 to parents John B., Sr. and Sue Alexander. A proud veteran, he served in the United States Army during WWII. Mr. Alexander was a C.P.A. and retired from CSX in 1986 after 16 years. He moved to Jacksonville in 1980. Mr. Alexander is preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Doris Williams Alexander. He is survived by three daughters, Kathy A. Osborne of Winchester, KY, Sharon A. Keough (husband, Mike) of Peachtree City, GA and Lisa A. Gerhardstein (husband, Carl) of Jacksonville; six grandchildren, Katie and Sarah Osborne, Megan and Matthew Keough and Daniel and Lauren Gerhardstein; and one sister, Marilyn Lewis.
