Previously he was employed in the reconditioning department of Abeloff Pontiac, Stroudsburg, for more than eight years, and worked for FKM Advertising, Wescosville, for 20 years. Bill was a musician and played with a very successful regional band called The Scott Bedford Four. Their biggest hit was a song called "Last Exit To Brooklyn" which reached #129 on the Billboard charts. Other notable songs included "You Turned Your Back On Me", "Manhattan Angel" and "How Does It Feel". He also played in other local bands including The Gabb Band, Southern Comfort and Country Gold.
