Funeral services for John R. Dunphy, 60, of 353 W. 13th St., Peru, who died at 3 pm Thursday in the C&O Hospital, Huntington W.V., will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday in St. Bernard Catholic Church. The Rev. Robert Zahn will officiate and burial will be in the Falls Cemetery.
Mr. Dunphy, in failing health for six months, was a yard engineer in the oiler division of the C&O Railroad, Peru. He was born Oct. 6, 1899 in Wabash County to John H. and Catherine (Houlihan) Dunphy. Mr. Dunphy was never married.
The decedent was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church, Peru. He served in the U.S. Army in World War II.
Survivors are one sister, Mrs. Mary Ridenour, Wabash, and a brother, Thomas Dunphy, Wabash RR1. A brother and sister preceded him in death.
Friends may call at the Hoover-Miner Funeral Home after 7 pm Sunday. Rosary services will be held at 7:30 pm Monday in the funeral home.
