Born in 1910 in Hull, East Yorkshire to Henry Hembrough and his wife Hannah. His father Henry was a shipwright. Harry was a member of the Royal Air Force attaining status as Sergeant Air Gunner.
Harry was killed in the turret during a flying raid over Ruhr, Germany in October 1943. The crew was able to fly the badly damaged aircraft back to England but nothing could be done to save him. He left behind a wife and an eight year old daughter.
He was married to Emma Frances Stephenson and together they had one child, a daughter named Renee Murial Hembrough, born in 1935.
Renee went on to marry Peter Jackson. They did not have any children. Renee died of cancer in 1988.
