Sammie Davis ``Dave'' Todd

CONWAY Sammie Davis ``Dave'' Todd, 95, the husband of Reba Register Todd, died Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2005 at the Marion County Medical Center.

Mr. Todd was born Sept. 5, 1909 in Horry County, the son of Alvie Todd and Susan Altman Todd. He was a 30-year employee with the Horry County Public Works Department as a correction officer; a retired Horry County farmer; and a member of the Antioch United Methodist Church, serving as Church Historian and throughout the years held numerous offices.

Mr. Todd was predeceased by two grandchildren, Russell Todd, and Jackie Graham; two great-grandchildren, Frankie Barnhill II, and Katherine Maria Todd; three brothers, Jim Todd, Mack Todd, and Ed Todd; five sisters, Sudie Ludlam, Mellie Hardwick, Lily Hardee, Addie Hucks, and Ida Hardwick.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 76 years, of Conway, are one son, Jack Todd and his wife Doris, of Conway, two daughters, Erie Mae Gore of Conway, and Virginia James and her husband Richard E., of Darlington; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 15, at the Antioch United Methodist Church. Burial, directed by Palmetto Funeral Home, will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 14, at Palmetto Funeral Home, Hwy. 378, Conway. The Todd family is receiving family and friends at the home of David and Jackie Todd, 9258 Pee Dee Hwy.
