"Sam" NEWSOM, Mem. # 34287693, and Minnie Lee (HUGULEY) NEWSOM, Mem. # 34287721 , who married ca. 1904 (Minnie had borne four children by 1900, only one of whom, a daughter named Murrell, was still living). Samuel Jr. died aged ten months in the wee hours of February 21, 1906, at the family residence, 104 Twentieth Street in Columbus, after an illness of two weeks of pneumonia. The funeral was conducted from the residence the same afternoon, officiated by Rev. J. W. HOWARD, with interment in Linwood Cemetery [ref.
