Robert Lee "Rob" Cox, 82, of Thomasville, died at Archbold Memorial Hospital. Born in Smoaks, S.C., he was the son of the late Decar and Minnie Gibson Cox. In 1953, he married Betty Terry of Thomasville, and they then made Thomasville their home. Mr. Cox grew up in Valdosta where he graduated from Valdosta High School. He attended North Georgia College, before serving in the US Air Force during WWII. He graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in Forestry. He was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. He was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church and the Thomasville Kiwanis Club. Mr. Cox had a successful career as a real estate broker. He was an avid gardener and loved the outdoors.

Survivors include his wife, Betty; daughter, Betsy; grandchildren, Bryan and Matt; sister and brother-in-law, Eileen and Harley; sisters-in-law, Marilyn and Mary Virginia; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr.Cox was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Decar and Mary Cox; sister and brother-in-law, Jeannette and Tom Winter; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bill and Evelyn Terry; brother-in-law, C. Herman Terry.
