Matthew Alexander Wallace II (1873-1952) was a son of Matthew Alexander Wallace I (who was a twin - 1846-12 Jul 1873) and Sarah Ann Miller (1852-1900 and is buried in Belmont Cemetery in Gonzales Co, Texas in an unmarked grave).

Wife #1: Matthew Alexander Wallace II was first married to Dora Polina "Pauline" Eversole (1883-1947) on 10 Nov 1896 in Gonzales, Texas and they had at least two sons: (Dora left the family and Matthew was left to raise the two boys, so the family photo I have posted may have been taken after Dora left)

1) Franklin Alexander Wallace, born 16 Oct 1897 in Gonzales Co, Texas. He died 01 Apr 1963 in Nederland, Jefferson, Texas, USA (Buried: Greenlawn Memorial Park, Port Arthur, Texas). He married Louise Barbara Braden on 20 Sep 1916 in Milam Co, Texas.

2) Cecil Ambus Wallace, born 19 Sep 1900 in Belton, Texas; died: 11 Nov 1954 in Beeville, Bee, Texas, USA at Thomas Memorial Hospital (Buried: Greenwood Cemetery, Beeville, Texas). He married 1st Stella Jane Dorsey; second Esterline Youmans.

Wife #2: Matthew Alexander Wallace II was then married to Alice Edith Herbert (1879-1923) on 16 Nov 1913 in Bell County, Texas. They had at least the following children born in Bell County: (Matthew died a widower as his 2nd wife predeceased him in 1923)

1) Burl Richard Wallace (27 Aug 1914-18 Jun 1929)

2) Beulah Maureen Wallace (18 Apr 1916-08 Oct 2001). Died in Lockhart, Caldwell, Texas. She married Lee Neil Clark on 22 Jan 1943(Lee Neil Clark was a son of George Mauzie Clark and Veronia Grant Burton-Clark).

3) Joseph Matthew Wallace (1917-1996). He married Juanita Marie Plunk.

4) Billie Louise Wallace (born 07 Feb 1920)

Matthew Alexander Wallace II was a retired farmer living in Irving, Texas (Precinct 8, Route #2 Box 536A) at the time of death. He died at Parkland Hospital in Dallas, Texas after at least a 7-8 day stay being treated for lung carcinoma. Mrs. Lee N Clark was the informant on his Tx Death Certificate (which apparently had more than one filing --28449 was replaced with 27442 Tx Death Certificate #s).

Matthew Alexander Wallace II's mother, Sarah Miller-Wallace-Lehmann (my great grandmother) died on 27 July 1900 of an acute appendicitis attack (married to Max Lehmann, my great grandfather at the time of her death) while visiting her son Matthew Alexander Wallace II in Bell County. Sarah was removed for burial to Gonzales Texas and buried in Belmont Cemetery (unmarked grave under a "tree" on a "hill" - we are trying to find a living descendent that can identify the spot she is buried so that we can have a headstone placed).

*NOTE: Reportedly George M Clark purchased a large "Clark" section back in the 1930's and this entire section should have a "Clark" Marker with at least the following buried there: John & Alice Clark, George M & Veronia Clark, Matthew Alexander Wallace (had a daugher who married a Lee Neil Clark),Lee Neil Clark & wife Beulah Maureen Wallace-Clark, Michael Clark (infant son Norman William & Jane Clark)and likely others... there are likely at least 3 lots reserved for 3 other family members (still living in 2009), but not sure.I would love to get a photo of the Clark section marker and those headstones currently buried w/ markers in the lot. This "Clark" section should be located in Garden "S", as Matthew Alexander Wallace is buried in Garden S, Lot 29, BLK O

*Ref. Note: Matthew Alexander Wallace is buried in the Clark family plot.
