HILLSBORO - Ielene Hilda Knoles Burris, 92, of Hillsboro died Saturday, July 15, 2006, at her home.
She was born May 28, 1914, in Salisbury, the daughter of Samuel W. and Minnie Pearl Greene Knoles. She married Meinard Doyen in 1937; he died in 1944. She married Ralph McLaughlin in 1949 in Petersburg; he died in 1959. She married Leo Burris in 1972; they divorced. Two daughters, Doris Greenwood and Wanda Guckian, also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Burris was a homemaker and Avon representative. She was a member of the Eagles Club in Vandalia.
Survivors: three daughters, Beverly (husband, Elbert) Grindley and Janet (husband, Terry) White, both of Coffeen, and Judy Eichelberger of Hillsboro; two sons, David (wife, Carolyn) Doyen of Fillmore and Ralph (wife, Anne) McLaughlin of Hillsboro; 21 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; brother, Woodrow (wife, Ruth) Knoles of Springfield; and three sisters, Elsie Heyen, Velma Stuhmer and Dorothy (husband, William) Eddings, all of Petersburg.
