L. Mildred Alderman, 85, passed away on February 16, 1990 in Sandy, Utah of natural causes.


Born September 25, 1904 in Joplin, Missouri, daughter of Bert Earl and Florence Edith Jones Callentine.


Married Albion Newton Alderman on August 10, 1924 in Joplin, Missouri; solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on June 26, 1944. He died in October 1984.


Educated in Joplin, Missouri receiving her LPN training at which she worked for 38 years, retiring at age 75. She has lived the past nine years with her daughter and son-in-law in Bountiful. Active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she loved teaching dance, plays, singing and the youth; was choir director for many years, and also held many leadership positions. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, and attending the LDS Temples.


Surviving are daughter, Mrs. E. Devont (Patricia Rae) Stowell, Bountiful; nine grandchildren: Jeana Stanard, Keith Stowell, Valerie Lilly, Claudia Greear, Bradley Stowell, Darlene Futch, Gregory Stowell, Vicki Checketts, Blaine Stowell; 33 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild. Preceded in death by two grandchildren, Janet and David; and sister, Edith Ray.


Funeral Services will be held on Monday, February 19, 1990 at 11 a.m. in the Bountiful 28th Ward Chapel, 2285 South 200 West, where friends may call from 9:30-10:45 a.m. prior to the services.
Interment: Bountiful Memorial Park under the direction of Lindquist's Bountiful Mortuary.
