Joseph F Williams, Jr, age 81, of Canton, died Monday afternoon at Aultman Hospital following a brief illness. He was born on April 25, 1923 in Akron, OH to the late Joseph F, Sr and Edna Faye (Hughes) Williams. He was employed for 35 years as a machinist for the Monarch Rubber Company. He was a member of the Westbrook Park United Methodist Church and it's board of directors for the Meals on Wheels program.
Mr Williams is preceded in death in 1993 by his wife, Mary G (Alexandrou) Williams. He is survived by his wife, Erma Wenger-Williams; sons, Arthur J (Darlene) Williams of Hoschton, GA, Joseph F Williams III of Glendale, CA; daughters, Crystal (Jerry) Davis of Wadsworth, OH, Carol Jean Custer of Richville, OH; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, one great great grandaughter; sisters, Mary Jane Carmany of Dallas, GA and Janet Murdick of Canton, OH.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11a.m. Friday at Westbrook Park United Methodist Church, 2521 12th St, NW, Canton, OH with Rev Jonathan Reese officiating. Burial will be in North Canton Cemetery. Calling hours at the Reed Funeral Home will be Thursday from 6-9 p.m.
