David O. Jensen, 48, of 3101 S. Hawthorne Ave., died Tuesday, Oct. 9, in Sioux Valley Hospital. He was born March 16, 1942, in Arlington. He attended school in Lake Preston and served in the Navy from 1959 to 1962. He worked at John Morrell and Company in the curing department from 1969 to 1990. He organized the "Dave Jensen and the Switchmen" band in 1969, and was president and co-owner of the Scent Business, Viking Laboratories, Inc. His hobbies were hunting and fishing. He was a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church and the VFW, past Conducteur of Voiture 40 et 8, and past commander of Renner American Legion post. He married Mary Robinson on Jan. 5, 1990, in Sioux Falls. Survivors include his wife: one son, Scott, Sioux Falls; one daughter, Angela Jensen, Sioux Falls; one stepson, Gary Robinson, Anchorage, Ala.; his mother, Ella Jensen, Sioux Falls; four brothers: Donald and Lonnie both of Sioux Falls, and Arden and Lyle, both of Lake Preston; and four sisters: Marilyn J. Person, Pierre; Carol L. Holmbeck and LuAnn K. Decker, both of Sioux Falls; and Sheryl F. Harris, South Sioux City, Neb. Services will begin at 2 p.m. Friday in Our Saviour's Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
