Son of George & Elizabeth Blymier Myers. Married Elizabeth G Armstrong October 16th 1855. Before the Civil War he served in a Ohio Militia Artillery Battery then moved to Bellefontaine where he was a store owner. During the Civil War, on November 11th 1861 he was Commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant with approval of the Adjutant General of Ohio to enlist the men required to muster a Light Artillery Battery. On January 2nd 1862 he was Promoted to Rank of Captain by Governor Todd. On February 15th 1862 Mustered in as Commander of the 13th Ohio Battery Light Artillery. Fought at the Battle of Shiloh. Mustered out by Special Field Order #17 on April 30th 1862. After the War he moved his family to Philadelphia and he became a traveling salesman.
