Passed away Sunday, September 28, 2008 at home. Bill was born February 6, 1936 in Kalamazoo, MI, the son of Noel and Josephine Goolsby McNett. He was a 20 year Navy veteran during Korea and Vietnam. He was a life member of VFW Post # 6252 of Comstock and a member of the Fraternal order of Eagles Aerie #526 of Kalamazoo. He married Arlene Covell July 20, 2002 in Decatur and she survives. Also surviving, five daughter, Debrah (Dennis) Coder of Kalamazoo, Cindy (David) McNeese and Nancy (James) Bobo both of Santee, CA, Cinamin (robert) Colletti of Cleveland, OH, Dionne (Russell) Couchman of Auburn, IN; stepdaughter, Debra (Donald) Ecie of Kalamazoo; stepson Alfred Hurd of Tiptonville, TN; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters, Jean (Bill) Sehy of Schoolcraft, Joyce (Ed) Bowmen of Niles; three brothers, Carl (Janice) McNett of Bangor, Jim (Jan) McNett of Parchment, Terry (Kathy) McNett of Lawton. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Nancy and June; and a brother Kenneth. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Friday in the Newell Funeral Home, Decatur with Reverend Michael Heflin officiating. Burial in Harrison Cemetery Decatur with military rites conducted by VFW Post #6252 of Comstock. Friends may call one hour prior to the services. Memorials may be made to In-House Hospice Solutions or the American Cancer Society.
